Hari Om Yoga Center has a rich history that reflects its deep spiritual roots and strong community foundation. Established in various forms since 1998, it originally began as the Hari Om Kirtan Society, where members gathered monthly to chant and sing bhajans while sharing prasadam.
In its early years, the group met in homes around the Downingtown area, creating an intimate and devotional atmosphere. As the community grew, gatherings were later held at Sudesh Sharma’s office, which became a regular satsang location.
The vision to create a dedicated spiritual space led to the founding of Hari Om Mandir in 1993. With dedication and collective effort, a property was purchased in 1997 at 348 Boot Road, serving as the Mandir for 17 years.
In June 2014, the center was re-established as Hari Om Yoga Center, expanding its focus to include yoga practice while preserving its spiritual traditions. The original building was demolished in 2014, and a new structure was completed within two years under the guidance of Ajay Sharma.
Today, Hari Om Yoga Center continues to honor its roots by hosting monthly bhajan gatherings and distributing prasad, often sponsored by families within the community. This ongoing tradition remains an essential part of its yogic and cultural identity, fostering unity, devotion, and spiritual growth.
