Delaware Tamil School

Delaware Tamil Palli (DTP) is a nonprofit educational institution founded in 2006 under the umbrella of the Tamil Association of Greater Delaware Valley. The school is devoted to nurturing the Tamil language and cultural heritage among families in the Delaware Valley region.

DTP offers structured Tamil language education for children beginning at age four, with levels ranging from Thalir (pre-K) through Nilai 7. The curriculum follows the standards of the American Tamil Academy, ensuring a systematic and age-appropriate approach to reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.

Beyond academics, DTP creates a vibrant cultural environment where students participate in music, dance, drama, storytelling, and traditional Tamil games. Annual celebrations, cultural competitions, and educational field trips enrich the learning journey and help students build pride in their roots.

Fully operated by dedicated parent volunteers, the school stands as a strong example of community collaboration. Through shared commitment and cultural passion, DTP continues to serve as a cornerstone for preserving Tamil identity among the next generation in the region.
