# Oracle and OpenAI Expand Partnership With New AI Tools for Business Operations

Oracle and OpenAI are expanding their collaboration with a new range of artificial intelligence tools designed to integrate AI into everyday business operations, including software development, financial management and cybersecurity.

The companies unveiled the offerings at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas on October 27. The announcement reflects a growing effort to move generative AI beyond standalone chatbots and connect it directly with the enterprise software and systems employees already use.

At the center of the expanded partnership is Oracle AI Workspace, a platform that brings OpenAI models, including ChatGPT and Codex, into Oracle's business applications and cloud infrastructure. The platform is designed to help employees access company information and complete routine tasks through natural language prompts, reducing the need to move between multiple applications.

## ChatGPT Connects With Oracle Business Systems

Oracle AI Workspace connects ChatGPT with enterprise platforms such as Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Fusion Applications and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Through a single interface, employees can search for business information, interact with different Oracle systems and perform tasks that have been authorized by their organizations.

For instance, a finance employee could ask ChatGPT to review recent expenses or examine purchasing decisions without opening several separate applications. Oracle said the platform will respect existing access permissions, company approval procedures and data policies.

These controls are intended to allow organizations to introduce AI into internal workflows while maintaining oversight of sensitive information and business decisions.

## App Composer Aims to Make Software Development Easier

The partnership also includes tools intended to help businesses develop applications without depending entirely on specialized software developers.

Oracle App Composer will allow employees with limited or no programming experience to create internal business applications. The tool uses OpenAI's Codex to generate software code, while Oracle manages application deployment through OCI.

The resulting applications can connect to authorized company data. Oracle also said the platform supports APEXlang, a technology designed to keep generated code structured and easier to maintain as applications evolve.

The offering could make it easier for business teams to develop tools tailored to their operational requirements without having to manage every stage of software development themselves.

## AI Security Mesh Targets Cybersecurity Threats

Cybersecurity is another major component of the expanded collaboration. Oracle introduced AI Security Mesh, a managed service that uses OpenAI's cybersecurity models to identify vulnerabilities and help address potential threats across corporate networks.

The service is designed to operate across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, other cloud platforms and servers maintained within an organization's own facilities.

Oracle said it will manage safeguards intended to prevent security assessments from interfering with normal business operations. Customers, meanwhile, will retain authority over which areas of their networks can be tested.

The service is intended to help organizations identify weaknesses before attackers can exploit them, while allowing businesses to maintain control over their security environments.

## New AI Package Designed for Small Businesses

Oracle is also seeking to extend access to AI tools beyond large enterprises. Its new AI SMB Bundle combines ChatGPT Business, Codex, Oracle AI Workspace and NetSuite QuickStart in an offering aimed at smaller companies.

The package is designed to help small businesses develop applications and manage essential operations, including invoicing and cash flow, using a combination of AI and enterprise software.

Eligible businesses can receive up to $12,000 in annual Oracle cloud credits through the offering. The credits are intended to help startups and smaller organizations build products and manage their operations without making a large initial investment in cloud infrastructure.

By combining AI services with business management tools, Oracle is seeking to make advanced technology more accessible to companies that may not have extensive technical teams or large technology budgets.

## Oracle and OpenAI Push AI Deeper Into Enterprise Software

Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk said the expanded partnership combines OpenAI's artificial intelligence capabilities with Oracle's enterprise infrastructure.

The announcement reflects a broader shift in the technology industry, as companies increasingly look to integrate generative AI into existing business applications rather than relying solely on separate chatbot services.

For businesses, the potential applications range from automating routine administrative work to developing internal software and strengthening cybersecurity operations. However, successful adoption will depend on how effectively these tools work with existing systems and whether organizations can maintain appropriate security, permissions and human oversight.

Oracle has not yet provided official pricing or release dates for every individual product announced at the event. The rollout will help determine how quickly businesses can adopt the new offerings and whether they can simplify the development, deployment and management of AI-powered applications.

As Oracle and OpenAI deepen their relationship, the partnership highlights the growing competition to make AI a practical part of everyday workplace operations.
