# Samsung to Launch Galaxy Buds On Clip-Style Earbuds in the U.S. on November 6
Samsung is preparing to introduce its first clip-style wireless earbuds in the United States. The Galaxy Buds On, which made their debut in South Korea earlier this month, are scheduled to reach the U.S. market on November 6, the company has announced.
The new earbuds feature Samsung’s proprietary “TwinBoost” technology, developed to improve bass performance—an area that has traditionally been challenging for open-style wireless earbuds. Samsung says the device incorporates two woofers to strengthen low-frequency audio, although real-world performance will determine how effective the system is.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Buds On deliver up to 9.5 hours of battery life. Their C-shaped clip-on design is similar to other earbuds in this category, while tap controls allow users to manage music playback. The earbuds also include technology intended to limit sound leakage and support Galaxy AI and Gemini Live. Additional features include head gestures that let users answer calls or dismiss alarms.
The device carries an IP54 rating, providing protection against limited dust exposure and water splashes, including sweat and light rain.
## Designed to Keep Users Aware of Their Surroundings
Unlike conventional in-ear earbuds, the Galaxy Buds On are designed without creating a seal inside the ear canal. Samsung’s approach allows users to remain aware of their surroundings, including nearby traffic, conversations and other environmental sounds, without switching on a dedicated transparency mode.
Because the earbuds do not seal the ear canal, they do not offer active noise cancellation (ANC). Instead, Samsung has developed a sound-leakage reduction system that uses opposite-phase sound waves to limit audio escaping into the surrounding environment.
Samsung says this technology operates by default without requiring additional battery power, according to Android Authority.
## Pricing, Colors and Market Position
Samsung has priced the Galaxy Buds On at $229 in the United States, with sales beginning November 6. The earbuds will be offered exclusively in black and will include a charging case with a design similar to the cases accompanying the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.
At $229, the Galaxy Buds On will rank among Samsung’s most expensive wireless earbuds, sitting below the $249 Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. The standard Galaxy Buds 4 are priced at $179.
Although the Galaxy Buds On share several design features and selling points with other clip-style earbuds, their success will depend largely on how comfortable they are during extended use and whether their audio quality—particularly bass performance—meets consumer expectations.
