# Spotify and Claude Recover After Brief U.S. Service Outages
Spotify and Anthropic’s Claude AI platform recovered Tuesday after brief service disruptions affected users in the United States, with thousands reporting difficulties accessing the two online services.
Spotify experienced the larger reported disruption. According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, roughly 17,000 users had submitted reports about problems with the music-streaming service by 10:12 a.m. ET. The figure reflects reports submitted by users and does not necessarily represent the actual number of people affected.
Spotify acknowledged the disruption on X, saying it was aware of temporary problems affecting its application and that its teams were working to resolve the issue. The company did not disclose what caused the outage or provide further technical details.
At roughly the same time, users also reported difficulties with Claude, the artificial intelligence platform operated by Anthropic. More than 11,000 outage reports were recorded for Claude, according to Downdetector.
Anthropic said it was investigating elevated error rates affecting Claude services. Reports subsequently declined significantly, falling to fewer than 100 as the service recovered.
The simultaneous disruptions affected users in other markets as well. In Singapore, Spotify outage reports began at about 9:41 p.m. local time and reached a peak of 453 reports at 10:26 p.m., according to Downdetector.
Reports involving Claude in Singapore began around 9:44 p.m. and peaked at 368 at approximately 10:14 p.m.
The incidents highlight the reliance consumers and businesses place on cloud-based digital services for everyday activities, from music and entertainment to increasingly common AI-powered tools.
Downdetector aggregates user-submitted reports to identify potential service disruptions. A spike in reports can indicate an outage or technical problem, although the data does not provide a precise count of affected customers.
Neither Spotify nor Anthropic initially provided detailed explanations for the disruptions. Both services later showed substantially lower numbers of reported problems as their systems returned to normal operation.
