Northern Virginia investor backs Vital Biologics and acquires You+Yours, eyes global expansion and predicts health and wellness will be “bigger than AI”

Indian American entrepreneur and investor Sandesh Sharda is expanding his presence in the U.S. health and wellness market with investments in two dietary supplement companies within a matter of weeks.

Sharda recently invested in Vital Biologics, an adult supplement company, adding the brand to a growing portfolio focused on consumer health and wellness.

The investment follows his July 31 acquisition of You+Yours, a Durham, North Carolina-based direct-to-consumer company specializing in nutritional supplements for children.

Sharda told The American Bazaar that international expansion will be a central part of his strategy for both businesses, with plans to introduce the brands to consumers across Asia, Europe and South America.

Vital Biologics operates in the U.S. supplement market with products designed around cardiovascular health and general wellness.

Its flagship product, Heart Calm, is marketed as a dietary supplement aimed at supporting heart health.

The company also offers products in categories including sleep support, multivitamins and CoQ10, which Sharda sees as increasingly relevant as consumers become more focused on nutrition and healthy aging.

Sharda said he invested in Vital Biologics because he believes there is significant international demand for American-made health and wellness products.

The company manufactures its products at an FDA-certified facility, which Sharda believes could strengthen its appeal as it expands beyond the North American market.

He said his objective is to build Vital Biologics into a global consumer health brand rather than limiting its growth to the U.S. market.

The investment adds to the portfolio Sharda has been developing since his 2023 exit from Miracle Systems, the government contracting technology company he founded and led for nearly two decades.

His acquisition of You+Yours has given him an entry into the children's health and nutrition segment.

The company markets Tasteless Iron for Kids as one of its key products, offering an easy-to-mix dietary supplement designed for children.

The product is promoted as hypoallergenic and free from added sugar and flavor, targeting families looking for convenient nutritional options for children with selective eating habits.

You+Yours also offers children's iron and multivitamin products aimed at addressing nutritional needs during childhood development.

Sharda said the growing health and wellness market was a major factor behind his decision to invest in the company.

He believes changing food habits and increased consumption of meals outside the home are contributing to greater consumer interest in nutritional supplements.

Sharda expects demand for wellness products to continue increasing across international markets and sees an opportunity to turn U.S.-based supplement companies into globally recognized brands.

You+Yours represents Sharda’s third major acquisition in North Carolina, following his purchases of two golf courses in the greater Myrtle Beach area and another golf property across the state line in South Carolina.

Beyond health and wellness, Sharda has invested across sectors including real estate, artificial intelligence, healthcare, media, golf and hospitality in both the United States and India.

He has also served as an investor and judge on the Indian startup television show Ideabaaz, where he has supported and evaluated emerging entrepreneurs.

Sharda has consistently emphasized profitability, operational discipline and long-term commitment as important elements of his investment philosophy.

He believes investors should be prepared to give businesses several years to develop rather than focusing exclusively on quick financial returns.

He also stresses the importance of management teams, arguing that strong financial backing alone cannot guarantee the success of a company without committed people driving the business.

Born in Maharashtra and raised in Bhopal, Sharda moved to the United States after completing an MBA in London and has since built a diversified investment portfolio spanning multiple industries.
