# Adobe Acquires Indian AI Startup Rilo in Second India-Focused Deal

Adobe has acquired Indian artificial intelligence startup Rilo, adding the young automation company to its expanding AI portfolio and marking the software giant’s second publicly known acquisition of an Indian startup.

The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

According to reports, Adobe completed the acquisition less than a year after Rilo was established, highlighting the growing interest among major technology companies in early-stage AI businesses.

Rilo was founded in September 2025 by IIT Bombay alumni Dhruv Jaglan and Georgi Boby.

The startup initially built an AI-powered workflow platform designed to let users create and run complex automated processes simply by describing their requirements in natural language.

The approach was aimed at making advanced automation accessible even to people without programming or technical expertise.

Rilo later expanded its platform into what it called “AI employees” for marketing and go-to-market teams.

These AI agents were designed to perform a wide range of business activities, including competitive research, prospecting, LinkedIn outreach, Reddit marketing, social media creation and campaign research.

The platform was built to work across multiple tools, allowing AI agents to handle tasks that would traditionally require employees to switch between different software applications.

Rilo reportedly attracted more than 10,000 users within just a few months of launching.

The startup also secured investment from Peak XV Partners and Z47/DeVC at a reported valuation of around $10 million.

The acquisition represents Adobe’s second known transaction involving an Indian startup.

In 2023, Adobe acquired Rephrase.ai, an Indian AI video company, as the software maker began expanding its presence in the country’s rapidly developing artificial intelligence ecosystem.

Rilo’s founding team has now confirmed that the startup is joining Adobe.

Rahul Parmar, a member of the Rilo team, described the acquisition as the beginning of a new chapter after months of rapid experimentation and product development.

The startup’s short journey included building products, testing ideas and growing its user base at a rapid pace.

The acquisition also brings an experienced AI and technology team into Adobe.

Rilo co-founder Dhruv Jaglan previously co-founded AI recruitment platform Babblebots.ai.

Co-founder Georgi Boby had worked as the technology lead at robotics company CloudChef, which focused on automated cooking systems.

Several members of Rilo’s broader team also have backgrounds in computer science and technology from IIT Bombay.

Among them is Bhavesh Dhingra, who achieved an All India Rank of 2 in the JEE Advanced examination in 2016.

Rilo’s investors have also expressed optimism about the acquisition.

Rahul Gupta, Managing Partner at Day Zero Ventures, said the startup’s workflow-building technology had significant potential and could help Adobe improve productivity and customer experiences.

The deal comes as the technology industry increasingly shifts toward AI agents capable of performing multi-step business tasks rather than simply generating text or answering questions.

Marketing and sales have emerged as major areas for this transformation, with AI companies developing systems that can automate research, outreach, content creation and campaign management.

Anthropic and other major AI players are also exploring marketing-related applications for their AI systems.

For Adobe, Rilo could strengthen its broader strategy of embedding AI agents into enterprise workflows.

The startup’s technology could potentially help Adobe move beyond AI-assisted creation toward systems capable of independently carrying out complex marketing and business processes.

The acquisition also highlights India’s growing importance as a source of AI talent and startups for global technology companies.

With Rilo joining Adobe less than a year after its founding, the transaction demonstrates how quickly promising AI startups can attract the attention of established technology giants.
