### Drexel University Bhangra (DUB)

Drexel University Bhangra (DUB) is a nonprofit student dance organization dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the vibrant folk dance tradition of Bhangra from Punjab, India. Founded in 2005, DUB is made up of passionate and hardworking Drexel University undergraduate students who come together to learn, perform, compete, and share their culture with audiences in Philadelphia and beyond. Bhangra is traditionally associated with happiness, energy, unity, and celebration, and DUB brings these values to life through dynamic and engaging performances.

Beyond learning the dance itself, DUB provides its members with opportunities to develop leadership abilities, confidence, teamwork, discipline, and strong personal connections. Each performance reflects the team’s dedication to preserving cultural traditions while presenting Bhangra in an exciting and contemporary way. DUB has become a meaningful platform for students to express their cultural identity and connect with audiences of different backgrounds.

The team enthusiastically participates in charity programs, multicultural events, campus celebrations, community performances, and cultural showcases. DUB is also available for special occasions and private events, including] weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and other celebrations where an energetic cultural performance can make the occasion memorable.

In addition to local performances, DUB competes nationally in approximately four to five Bhangra competitions each year. These competitions provide the team with an opportunity to challenge itself, connect with other collegiate Bhangra teams, and represent Drexel University on a larger stage. Through its performances and competitions, DUB continues to introduce audiences to the beauty, energy, and cultural significance of Punjabi Bhangra.

Whether performing at a cultural festival, charity event, university program, wedding, birthday, or national competition, DUB strives to entertain audiences while encouraging appreciation and curiosity for Punjabi culture.
