TikTok, Disney partner to bring creator content to Disney+
The Walt Disney Company has entered into a landmark partnership with TikTok that will allow creators to legally incorporate characters, scenes, and clips from Disney's vast entertainment library into short-form videos, marking the first collaboration of its kind between a major Hollywood studio and a social media platform. Under the agreement, standout creator videos will appear not only on TikTok but also on Disney+ through a new vertical-video experience called Verts, which is set to launch in the United States before expanding to international markets.

The initiative will feature content from Disney's most popular brands, including Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, FX, and Disney Animation, creating a new way for fans to engage with their favorite stories beyond traditional movies and television. Disney said the content library will be updated regularly to encourage ongoing fan conversations and deepen subscriber engagement on its streaming platform. Alongside the collaboration, the companies unveiled the Disney Creator Ambassador Program, which will provide selected creators with exclusive experiences, greater visibility, invitations to special events, and opportunities for professional growth.

Disney executives described the partnership as a way to celebrate fan creativity and connect storytelling with the next generation of digital audiences, while TikTok emphasized that creators have become a powerful force in extending the cultural impact of films and television shows. The announcement also represents one of the first major strategic initiatives under Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro, who has prioritized adapting the company's streaming business to changing consumer habits and the rapid growth of creator-driven content.

TikTok revealed that users shared an average of 6.5 million posts related to movies and TV shows every day last year, with nearly half of surveyed users saying they watched a film or series after discovering it on the platform. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed, but industry analysts view the collaboration as a significant step toward integrating Hollywood entertainment with the global creator economy.
