OnePlus says it won’t launch new products in Europe and North America
OnePlus has announced a major change to its global business strategy, confirming that it will no longer launch new products in **Europe and North America**. The smartphone maker said existing customers in both regions will continue to receive software updates and after-sales support, but the move signals a significant shift as the company focuses its future growth on selected markets, particularly China.

As part of the transition, OnePlus also revealed that its **OnePlus Community** platform for affected users will close in August, after which community posts, comments and other user-generated content will no longer be publicly accessible. The company has advised users to download and save any content they wish to keep before the platform is discontinued.

The decision is reportedly part of a broader restructuring at parent company **Oppo**, which is streamlining its international operations. Industry reports indicate that Oppo is reducing its presence in several overseas markets while consolidating software development by replacing OnePlus' OxygenOS with Oppo's ColorOS. Eligible OnePlus devices will have the option to upgrade to the new operating system later this year, while older models will continue receiving maintenance updates.

The restructuring comes amid a challenging period for the global smartphone industry. Market research firms project a decline in smartphone shipments this year due to continued supply constraints, weaker consumer demand and increasing competition. Analysts also report that Oppo experienced a significant drop in shipments across several key markets, prompting the company to reassess its international business strategy and prioritize regions with stronger long-term growth potential.

Despite scaling back in Western markets, OnePlus is expected to maintain its presence in China while Oppo continues expanding other brands, including Realme, in selected international markets. Industry analysts say the move marks the end of OnePlus' long-standing strategy of aggressive global expansion, as the company shifts toward a more focused regional approach in response to changing market conditions and evolving consumer demand.
