Indian American Business Impact Group marks America’s 250th birthday with a 250-pound cake

The Indian American Business Impact Group (IAMBIG) marked America's 250th anniversary with a special celebration in Tysons, Virginia, bringing together members of Congress, business leaders and community representatives to honor the nation's founding values and recognize the growing contributions of Indian Americans. The event featured the unveiling of a 250-pound red, white and blue commemorative cake, symbolizing both the country's milestone anniversary and the community's commitment to America's future.

The gathering welcomed several prominent leaders, including former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, Congressman Shri Thanedar of Michigan and Congressman Suhas Subramanyam of Virginia. During their remarks, the elected officials reflected on the ideals that have shaped the United States over the past 250 years while highlighting the increasing role of Indian Americans in business, public service, entrepreneurship and innovation. They emphasized the importance of preserving democratic values and fostering opportunities for future generations.

IAMBIG Founder and President Ravi Puli welcomed guests and spoke about the community's lasting contributions to the nation's progress. Looking beyond the current milestone, Puli encouraged attendees to think about the long-term legacy Indian Americans can leave for future generations, expressing confidence that the work being done today will continue to benefit the country for centuries to come. Former Ohio State Senator Niraj Antani also addressed the audience, reinforcing the importance of civic engagement and leadership.

The celebration also showcased the next generation of leaders through a youth panel discussion focused on America's history, present and future aspirations. Cultural performances featuring traditional music and patriotic presentations added to the festivities, highlighting the rich diversity that continues to strengthen the nation. Several IAMBIG members, along with performers and youth participants, were honored with recognition awards for their service, leadership and contributions to the community.

Founded in 2023, IAMBIG has grown into a national platform connecting Indian American entrepreneurs, business executives and industry leaders across sectors including technology, healthcare, real estate, renewable energy, education and hospitality. Through networking, collaboration and leadership initiatives, the organization continues to promote innovation, strengthen business relationships and encourage greater civic participation while celebrating the achievements of the Indian American community.
